My Camera Stuff

Macro Developments

I know that sometimes it's a bit of a 'Jump in the deep end' sort of thing and you really don't want to spend the time reading stuff when you could be out there taking photo's, but the One most important thing I hope that you will learn from this blog, is, Patience is everything when dealing with Macro.
That does not mean everything is slow, in fact sometimes things can happen so fast it can overwhelm, and if you panic your going to do one of two things, scare off your subject or get photo's that will disappoint, the thing is fast is smooth, smooth is calm, right. That's where patience comes in, you need to be prepared and know what you should do as if it's second nature.

So if your still with me, I'm going to run through the prep I do, but just because I do it this way does not mean it's the only way, it's the way that works for me, even if you only pick up a few tips or new methods of working, then that's fine by me :-)

For this first entry I'm really going to concentrate on, as mentioned above my own method of setting up but also what range of kit I have, once I have listed all the kit I use for Macro photo's then I will start with each item separately, if I feel that there is little or nothing to explain about some items I will group them together in one single post :-)

  1. Tripods
  2. Camera
  3. Lenses
  4. light box
  5. Ring Flash
  6. Photo table studio tent + coloured backgrounds
  7. Light stands
  8. Light Reflector
  9. Extension tubes
  10. Close up filters
  11. Remote Trigger controller
  12. Staging props

Although this looks like a long list of equipment it's hardly likely that you would use everything here on a single photo session, but I just like to have the kit to hand, it's only when I have decided what sort of photo style that I want, that I pick the necessary bits of kit.
